Canadian Region
IISE's Canadian Region (formerly Region 14) comprises all the provinces and territories of Canada. We have more than 500 active IISE members in this region, with the majority in Ontario (48 percent) and Quebec (25 percent). Most of our professional members are active in the Toronto and Quebec chapters. Our 10 student chapters are also active with upcoming industrial engineers. The remainder of our members belong to the members-at-large community. Our mission is to provide value to our members by offering a connection point that represents the needs, concerns and support efforts of industrial engineers across Canada.
In Memory of Dr. Dionne Aleman (November 16, 1980 - October 21, 2025)
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dionne Michelle Aleman. She was a highly respected member of IISE and an integral part of the University of Toronto Engineering community. From 2023 to 2025, Dionne served as the Regional Vice President for Canada, where she supported and guided both student and professional chapters with unwavering dedication, compassion, and remarkable enthusiasm.

Acting Regional Vice President of Canadian Region - Timur Tkachev
Timur Tkachev is a dedicated and results-oriented Process Engineer at Aluminum Window Designs, where he specializes in operations management and information systems. In addition to his professional role, Timur is also a part-time MBA student at the Schulich School of Business.
Timur’s commitment to the field of industrial and systems engineering began during his studies at Toronto Metropolitan University. This passion was channeled directly into the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE), which was the only student organization Timur joined. His focused involvement quickly grew into a leadership role when he was elected as the IISE Student Chapter President in 2020.
As President, Timur led a vibrant team of 26 student members, successfully organizing 8 professional development events, networking functions, and community-building activities throughout the year. This dedicated effort to revitalize the chapter and provide tangible value to its members culminated in the chapter receiving the IISE Gold Award for outstanding performance.
This foundational experience as a student leader cemented Timur's belief in IISE's mission. He is eager to bring that same energy, dedication, and proven organizational experience to the Regional Vice President role, with a strong focus on supporting and empowering student and professional chapters to achieve their own success.
