Retail Network Optimization at Scale
Omnichannel retail networks present optimization challenges that are orders of magnitude more complex than pre-Internet retail because the actions within the retailer's scope (such as where to fulfill each order from) have large decision spaces but must be done efficiently given the pressure from customers and competitors on cost, speed and selection. One approach to such challenges is to decompose the decision space into large components and build mechanisms to coordinate those components towards a goal of being jointly optimal. In this webinar, we will provide an overview of some of the decision space decompositions in Amazon's network, along with a more detailed look into one specific decomposition.

Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) takes many different forms, at many different companies. When implemented correctly, VMI can be a "win-win" for both supplier and customer. But unfortunately, too often VMI helps only one company, or even worse, adds costs and inventory across the combined supply chain. In this webinar, we will discuss best practices for implementing VMI, focusing on the techniques that will improve overall supply chain performance, benefitting both the supplier and their customer. The webinar will also include case studies that illustrate these best practices from a variety of industries. Attendees will learn how to design and optimize VMI to ensure "win-win" results in their companies.
