OPEN-CELL FOAM. A cellular plastic in which there is a predominance of interconnected cells.

ORANGE PEEL. Uneven surface somewhat resembling an orange peel.

ORGANOSOL. A suspension of a finely-divided resin in a volatile organic liquid. The resin does not dissolve appreciably in the organic liquid at room temperature, but does at elevated temperatures. The liquid evaporates at the elevated temperature and the residue on cooling is a homogenous plastic mass. Plasticizers may be dissolved in the volatile liquid.

OVERFLOW GROOVE. Small groove used in molds to allow material to flow freely to prevent weldlines and low density, and to dispose of excess material.
