Four benefits of a 'meso' perspective
A May 23 Financial Times headline on supply chains,
“Forget Micro and Macro, It’s Mesoeconomics that
Matters,” has been on my mind since. Referring to
economists, author Gillian Tett wrote: “A couple of
decades ago, they did not focus much attention on
supply chains. That was partly because the discipline
was dominated by macroeconomics (top-down systemic
studies) and microeconomics (bottom-up studies of
individual incentives) – and industrial supply chains fell in
the middle.”
