Engineering people and team performance
ISE professionals can drive efforts to reach full potential
By D. Scott Sink
Many industrial and systems engineers
migrated to our discipline because we
were told it was the engineering option
that involved people the most. So we
entered ISE Body of Knowledge education
and preparation that taught us about
human factors engineering, operations research, and
manufacturing and production systems engineering. A
few ISE departments have purposefully integrated some
management systems engineering into their curriculum,
but the preparation to engineer management systems
that bring out the best in people and teams is limited.
