Dashboards for Daily Factory Management & End-to-End Supply Chain Visibility
Presenters: Tom Knight, CEO, Invistics and Stan Simpson, Sr. project manager
Tom Knight and Stan Simpson will review a three-year case study of a global consumer packaged goods company that saw the business need for improved supply chain visibility, built innovative dashboards for daily factory management, and implemented the Invistics solution to achieve significant improvements in cycle times and inventory reduction.
Today’s supply chain landscapes are being transformed as companies globalize and broaden their product mix in order to stay ahead of the competition. We’re seeing the following trends that are adding increasing complexity to modern supply chains:
- Companies are becoming “higher-mix,” making a wider variety of products with a longer tail of inventory, leading to the challenge where they have too much inventory for some products—and simultaneously—not enough for others.
- Companies are increasingly sourcing from and selling into emerging markets, which lengthens leadtimes and creates challenges aligning information spanning multiple countries for end-to-end supply chain visibility.
- Companies are outsourcing whole segments of their supply chain either to third-party contract manufacturing organizations, third-party logistics companies or other third-parties, making it difficult to communicate across multiple companies and systems.
