Thank you for your interest in AES webinars. These free one-hour presentations by knowledgeable professionals and experienced volunteers provide deeper insight into topics and issues involving industrial engineers, human factors/ergonomics professionals, healthcare providers and related professions.

Most ergonomics programs focus on the analytical processes needed to conduct job evaluations, implement solutions, and prioritize and find budgets to fund ergo projects. What most people are not taught are the hidden strategies that make these initiatives move more smoothly.

Workspace Considerations to Welcome and Support Neurodiversity

Dec. 9, 2 p.m. EDT
Presenter: Dr. Lauren Gant

We learned many lessons from the trials and difficulties presented in 2020. In many ways, the places we work have become extensions of who we are and what we represent – we bring our thoughts, feelings, challenges with us when we "punch the clock." It is no longer an option to overlook the impact of space on the people who occupy it. Considerations for health, wellness, and inclusivity are fundamental to creating spaces that are productive, creative, and welcoming for a diverse workforce. Dr. Gant will discuss the role of psychological safety in creating effective workplaces. Additionally, environmental considerations for neurodiversity will be introduced in an effort to foster equitable, productive and comfortable workplaces.
