The David F. Baker Distinguished Research Award
Recognizes outstanding research in the profession. It is given for a career of accomplishments that broadly benefited practitioners, organizations, or other researchers rather than for a single activity or application. The award is named for David F. Baker, Ph.D., late chairman of the industrial engineering department at The Ohio State University.
Eligibility:
IISE members. For cases in which the research has been a joint effort, the award will be made in the name of all the nominees so long as one holds membership in IISE.
Criteria:
One award is typically granted each year.
Nominees are judged on:
- Significance of the research
- Diligence, innovative abilities, and perseverance in advance the research
- Value of accomplishments
- Scope of the research and use of the results
Nomination process:
- Complete and return the nomination form.
- Three letters of recommendation should be limited to a maximum of two pages each.
- The nomination form, the nominator's letter and CV package should be limited to 12 pages.
- The entire nomination packet should be no more than 18 pages total.
Judging:
This award is judged by the Honors Steering Committee.
