IISE young professionals

You are about to graduate college and are securing your first job in the "real world," or you are making a career move, heading to a new city across the country, and would like to meet new people. Maybe you are simply interested in networking with other industrial and system engineers in your area and want to learn about the companies they work for. For these reasons and more, join a fun and dynamic group of young professionals at IISE.

If you are interested in getting involved and have more questions, please feel free to reach out to a member of the leadership team listed below.

Vision Statement

To be the premier organization that unites and accelerates the progress of young professionals globally as a catalyst to promote the industrial and systems engineering profession for the future.

Mission Statement

IISE Young Professionals is a group of global young professional members that aim to strengthen their relationship with the industrial and systems engineering body at large. We create personal and professional growth opportunities including leadership development and network building. In addition, we support the transition to the professional community by integrating with the industrial and systems engineering society.

Reduced membership for recent graduates

For recent college graduates, money is always tight. While it may not initially appear so, an IISE membership is a very worthwhile investment, and IISE wants to help new professionals continue their student membership without emptying their bank accounts.

  • First year graduates who are current student members can renew their membership for $86.

Strategic Committees

Professional Development

The Professional Development Committee organizes events and programs to provide value to all young professionals (YPs). These include hosting speakers on professional topics, holding networking or social events, organizing training and certification opportunities, our mentorship program, and others based on the feedback from our members.

Membership

The Membership Committee facilitates the transition from student to professional. It connects YPs with other members of IISE, serves as the bridge between Student & Professional IISE Chapters, and helps establish regional groups for YPs which provide leadership opportunities & connections to other professionals in the area.

Finance

The Finance Committee raises the funds needed to execute and promote the events and programs of YP. Through this committee, members are also provided with opportunities to develop budgets and creatively fundraise, which can be valuable in future startup or non-profit work.

Communication

The Communication Committee builds and maintains the mechanisms for internal and external communication by YP. These include YP's social media presence, internal messaging for members, promotion of events, and ensuring that communication systems within YP are robust.
