Senior Membership – $184*

Senior Members are professional members recognized for their tenure in the profession. They are entitled to all the benefits of IISE Professional Membership, may vote in IISE elections, and may hold IISE offices. Only senior members may hold an elected position on IISE’s Board of Trustees and receive the IISE Fellow Award. The requirements for senior membership vary according to one’s educational degrees and years of practice in the profession.

Senior member status is awarded to members at the pinnacle of their career in recognition of their education and years of work as a professional. To learn if you are eligible for senior status, see the category descriptions below:

You have a master’s or doctoral degree in industrial engineering from an ABET-accredited program

You must have a minimum of four (4) years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... two (2) years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.

You have a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from an ABET-accredited program

You must have a minimum of five (5) years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... three (3) years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.

You have four-year technology degree in industrial engineering from an ABET-accredited program

You must have a minimum of seven (7) years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... five (5) years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.

You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an ABET-accredited program other than industrial engineering or industrial engineering technology

You must show proof of satisfactory completion of two years or equivalent college-level engineering or engineering technology course completion
AND ... have a minimum of nine (9) years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... seven (7) years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.

You are a graduate of a non-ABET-accredited program in engineering or another field

You must have a minimum of 13 years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... 11 years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.

You do not have a bachelor’s degree

You must show proof of satisfactory completion of two years or equivalent college-level engineering or engineering technology courses
AND ... have a minimum of 10 years of industrial engineering work experience
OR ... eight (8) years of industrial engineering work experience AND be a registered professional engineer.
